New to music reading? Learning an instrument and wanting to develop an understanding of music and fluency in reading? This class is for you!
Through progressive interactive singing games we will develop music literacy and enjoy making music on various instruments like xylophones and other world instruments. A workbook will be provided.
Through weekly Kodály-inspired classes you will;
- Develop an understanding between beat and rhythm.
- Learn to sing and read pitch on the music stave with relative solfa (do, re, mi), handsigns and absolute note names
- Learn to read and write simple to more advanced rhythms and understand their value
- Develop a good ear through aural games. Hear what you play - play what you hear
- Learn to compose and improvise
- Develop awareness of musical expression and phrasing
- Learn to sight-sing and sing in two-three parts.
