We will be practicing in a String Group ensemble to develop musicianship, playing in group settings, this will develop further musical skills and performance skills.
Tuesdays: 5:30pm - 6:15pm - Sept 23-9 Dec
Wednesdays: 5:45pm - 6:30pm - Sept 24-26 Nov
Thursdays: 5:30pm - 6:15pm - Sept 25 - 27 Nov
Fridays: 5:20pm - 6:05pm - Sept 19 - 28 Nov - No class 10th Oct
Saturdays: 3:15pm - 3:45pm - Sept 20 - 29 Nov - No class 11th Oct
Weekly String Group classes provide an invaluable experience where students get to develop chamber music skills that we can't work on in an individual lesson:
- Learning to play your part while you hear another part in harmony
- Developing musical communication and making music together
- Making musical decisions as a group
- Developing good intonation and focused listening skills
- Developing musicality and expressive playing
- Elements of music theory, Italian music terms, learning new rhythms
- Sight reading practise
Group time also gives us the opportunity to occasionally practise performance etiquette and performing solo's to each other so that we are ready for performances.
